Aunt Millie’s celebrates Aunt’s Day with a $40,000 gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children

Aunt Millie’s celebrates Aunt’s Day with a $40,000 gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children

Aunt Millie’s is donating more than $40,000 to Shriners Hospitals for Children as a part of its annual Aunt’s Day fundraising campaign.

Aunt Millie’s, which committed to a minimum donation of $25,000, donated one cent for every loaf of Aunt Millie’s Bread sold between February 14 and March 13, 2010. This amount totaled $39,079. Marsh Supermarkets made a matching gift of one cent for every loaf of Aunt Millie’s Bread sold in Marsh stores, for an additional $1,518.93. The total contribution is $40,597.93.

“The customer support for our Aunt’s Day campaign exceeded our expectations,” remarked Marketing Director Melissa Dunning. “We are pleased to partner with such a terrific organization doing important work in our Aunt Millie’s communities.”

“We are grateful to receive this donation,” said Wayne Witczak, development officer for Shriners Hospitals for Children, “We thank Aunt Millie’s very much for sharing our compassion for helping children.”
