Ribbon Cut to Open New Lima Road Bridge
Work on structure finished right on schedule
A ribbon cutting ceremony took place today signaling the opening of the Lima Road Bridge over Willow Creek.
“What a great Christmas present for the people who live in Huntertown,” said Allen County Commissioner Linda Bloom, who attended the event along with members of the Huntertown Town Council and residents and business owners in the immediate area.
The bridge located on the northern edge of Huntertown has been closed to traffic since
September 14 for construction and rehabilitation. The work consisted of completely removing the existing concrete bridge and foundation and constructing a new three-span concrete slab bridge 75 feet in length and 39 feet wide. The bridge is equipped with two 12-foot travel lanes and one eight-foot pedestrian trail.Engineering Resources, Inc. served as project engineers. Primco, Inc. of Fort Wayne
constructed the bridge after submitting the low bid of $455,863. The project finished exactly on schedule.
