Public invited to attend City Christmas Open House for the Animals
Please join Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control in celebrating Christmas with homeless dogs and cats on Wednesday, December 9, between the hours of 3-7 P.M. at 3020 Hillegas Rd.
Guests are encouraged to bring gifts of: canned food for cats, dogs, puppies and kittens, feed for small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and parakeets, durable chew toys like Kongs or Nyla Bones, plain clay non-clumping cat litter, pet treats, small bags of timothy hay or alfalfa cubes, Care Fresh bedding for small animals, towels and blankets for pet bedding, animal themed note cards with envelopes, pet toys, sturdy leashes and collars, dog crates and cat carriers, acrylic lambs wool sheets, cat scratching posts made from rope (non-carpeted) and donations to purchase medical supplies.
Tour the shelter, visit with the animals, enjoy refreshments, and learn about volunteer opportunities. The pet adoption center will be closed Dec 9 for the Christmas open house, but will reopen December 10. The adoption center will also be closed December 24, and 25 for Christmas.
