Children and Pregnant Women Can Get H1N1 Vaccine Wednesday at Carew Clinic
Pregnant women and children up through age 18 can get the H1N1 flu vaccine Wednesday at the Carew Medical Park.
The clinic will be open Wednesday from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm or as long as supplies last. No appointment is necessary.
For now, the H1N1 injectable vaccine offered at Carew will be reserved for pregnant women, caregivers of children 6 months and under, and children six months through 18 years of age.
The H1N1 nasal spray vaccine will also be available for healthy children and young adults (2 years – 24 years) and for people who live with or provide care to infants less than six months of age.
The seasonal flu vaccine is no longer available.
Parkview Health is providing space for the clinic at Carew Medical Park, a three-story building located at 1818 Carew Street. You can access Carew Street either from Lake Avenue or East State Boulevard. Parking is available in an attached garage. The vaccines are free. Children under age 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
More than 7,400 people have been vaccinated for H1N1 flu since the clinic opened on Oct. 9.
Anyone experiencing symptoms of influenza should stay home and contact a health care provider.
