WHAT: The City of Fort Wayne is hosting a PUBLIC INFO & INPUT SESSION about the moving & widening of State Blvd.

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 5:30 pm

WHERE: Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, downtown Fort Wayne

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? All area residents interested in the proposed State Blvd. expansion, central city design, streets, neighborhoods, and our public spaces.

No RSVP is needed. This City meeting is open to all.

FACILITATOR: Winston/Terrell Group, Indianapolis

Lots of new information will be presented at this meeting.

CONTEXT: The City plans to widen and straighten State Blvd. between Wells St. & Clinton St., elevating the bridge over Spy Run Creek, in this historic neighborhood just north of downtown Fort Wayne. A state-led redesign of Clinton Street (US27) and bridge in the same area is already underway. Many other public works projects are also planned for this part of the city.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES FOR THIS IMPORTANT BOULEVARD THROUGH THE HEART OF OUR CITY? What should it look like? Some important considerations include adjoining streets, sidewalks, historic landscapes and homes, lighting, safety, expanded river greenway and trails, trees, recreation along the natural Spy Run Creek park, walking and biking, connections to nearby businesses, schools, community centers and parks, and the like.

Think about it and bring your ideas to the City meeting on Sept. 30.

THE BROOKVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD ENCOURAGES YOU TO ATTEND.
