IN Senator Long: Voice Questions, Concerns ‘Now’ on Health Care

An e-mail update from Indiana State Senator David Long:

Sen. Long: Voice Questions, Concerns ‘Now’ on Health Care
With congressional votes pending, area residents are encouraged to contact U.S. lawmakers soon with opposition or support

Indiana State Sen. David Long (R-Fort Wayne) urges those who oppose or support national health care reforms to voice their opinions now to Washington, D.C.

Long said many area constituents have contacted his office at the Indiana Statehouse in an effort to pass along their views to U.S. Sens. Dick Lugar and Evan Bayh as well as to U.S. Rep. Mark Souder.

Over the past few months, I’ve received more e-mails, phone calls and letters about the federal health care package than any state issue. I’ve been pleased to connect area residents – especially seniors who hold very strong opinions about the federal bill’s defeat or passage – to our members of Congress,” Long said.

“With congressional leaders making last-minute changes to the federal health care proposal and the final congressional votes drawing closer, time is of the essence. I am now encouraging fellow Hoosiers to make direct contact with Sen. Lugar, Sen. Bayh and Rep. Souder at their earliest convenience to express their opinion,” Long said.
