Before the renovations
Exterior renovations have been completed on the G.I. Joe’s Army Surplus Store along Wells Street.
G.I. Joe’s participated in the City’s Commercial Facade Grant program.  The program matched the investment G.I. Joe’s put into their new façade.

After the renovations
Once this was completed, according to Shawna Nicelley, the inside of the store had been opened so much to the outside light, they decided to work on the interior work. Â This interior work was not eligible for coverage under the grant. Â The point of this is that the CFG program spurred additional investment by G.I. Joe’s into their building. Â So the $10,000 investment by the City, turned into $30,000 after G.I. Joe’s contribution.
