Derek Frederickson, Engineering Resources and representative for the Charis House, reported that as of Friday, the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission Ministries had decided to request their vacation request be withdrawn from consideration by the Fort Wayne City Council.
They asked for a 60 day extension to allow them to meet with the adjacent neighborhood groups, revise their plans and come back to the Plan Commission with updated plans that would not require the vacation of Fairmount Place.
He also stated they will be transferring some of the services they’d planned on offering to another location which would allow for downsizing of the proposed facility.
The 60 day deferral request was granted with a unanimous vote.
