Wow! Nobody can say there’s nothing to do this weekend. And I need to go to the national ADA conference in Columbus. So for me, this is hypothetical. And I wish I could be here for all this. IF I were here, here are some things that I’d hit and they’re not all advertised since they are non-profit volunteer events.
For starters, of course, there’s the downtown Farmer’s Market and coffee at Cindy’s Diner to get started. Then best get work done since the afternoon gets crazy. At 1:00, there’s the Medicare Birthday Party at the Courthouse Green with live entertainment, at 2:00 the Jill Long Thompson “kick off” at the Obama/JLT office on Calhoun. Then there’s Pride Fest and there’s Island Fest at 4:00. Now so far, no need to drive around and waste gas.
But I would need to do soccer for the day too.
There are two soccer festivals, and both are firsts for Fort Wayne. One is at the Sports club and has top teams from all over the county and the top teams from Fort Wayne.
The other is at the Plex by IPFW and is the benefit event for Jorge’ Gonzalez, the 15-year old FW youth who needs dialysis and a kidney transplant to live a normal life or his life will end as a teen according to the Riley Hospital docs. And the soccer fest is free-donations accepted-and there’s international food and entertainment-both days Saturday and Sunday at the Plex.
There’s so much more going on for everyone. But those are the ones I’d try to hit on Saturday.
Nobody this weekend should be saying there’s nothing to do. As Michael Jordan said, “Just do it!”
