GFL and the City of Fort Wayne’s Solid Waste Department remind residents that some garbage and/or recycling collection days will be changing beginning December 2, 2024.
City offices to be closed for Thanksgiving
The City of Fort Wayne’s offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, and Friday, November 29, 2024, in recognition of Thanksgiving.
Garbage and/or recycling collection days changing for some residents
GFL is working with the City of Fort Wayne’s Solid Waste Department to implement a rerouting schedule that will result in a change of garbage and/or recycling collection days for approximately 25% of customers.

City update on Red River situation
Today, the City of Fort Wayne Board of Public Works approved a resolution that allows for the City to seek bids for a new garbage and recycling hauler once an agreement with Red River is reached in bankruptcy court.
