News release from the Allen County SPCA:
Adopt a pet during PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend, February 15th
(February 12, 2015) – The Allen County SPCA wants you to adopt love this Valentine’s Day during the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend. The nonprofit animal shelter plans to have dozens of available dogs and cats for adoption all over Fort Wayne.
The PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend is scheduled for February 14-15, at more than 1,210 PetSmart stores, including all three locations in Fort Wayne. Save a pet’s life and enrich your own with the pure love and joy that only a tail wag can bring.
As always the Allen County SPCA will be offering same-day adoptions for pre-approved applications. “Many adopters have pre-approved applications on file with us already. We encourage them to come out to PetSmart this weekend, meet with the dogs and cats, and take their animal home the same day,” said shelter director, Jessica Henry. Adopters not currently pre-approved can still meet with the available animals, and through a streamlined process, when approved, may be able to take the animal home that day as well. All animals will be adopted on a first come basis. “We are grateful to PetSmart Charities for their commitment to pet adoption. They have been a wonderful partner for our shelter, and we appreciate the opportunity to participate in this big, national effort.”
Hours are:
- Sunday 11a.m. – 5p.m.
PetSmart locations:
- 10260 Maysville Rd
- 10035 Lima Rd
- 1760 Apple Glen Blvd
Pet adoptions will benefit the Allen County SPCA; which will receive $35 in adoption-reward grants from PetSmart Charities for every pet they adopt in-store during this event.
