Tonight’s Fort Wayne, Indiana weather story from the National Weather Service:
Strong to severe storm potential late tonight into Friday
Dry this evening, low confidence in strong-severe storms late tonight into Friday eveningFort Wayne, Indiana (June 17, 2021) – Two rounds of storms may impact the forecast area starting late tonight and continuing into Friday evening. Round 1 is a decaying line of storms that move into NW Indiana and SW Lower MI after 5 am EDT, then continue southeastward through the mid Friday morning. While a strong storm is possible, heavy rain and gusty winds are the main threat. Round 1 will make or break the severe weather potential for Round 2 Friday afternoon and evening. It is possible that round 1 modifies the environment such that afternoon development occurs further south and east and outside of the IWX forecast area. IF round 2 does materialize over our area, the primary threats would be damaging winds, heavy rain, and localized flooding. Monitor the forecast closely for the latest details.
