Fort Wayne Police Department incident report:

Date: March 8, 2025

Location: the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Woodsdale Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Time: 2230 hours

Details/Summary:

The Fort Wayne Police Department was notified of a crash involving two vehicles around 10:30 pm on March 8, 2025, at Capital [sic] Ave & Woodsdale Ln. Officers responded to the intersection and located the crash with one adult female driver unconscious in a sedan. Officers provided medical aid until Fort Wayne Fire Department and TRAA medics arrived. The unconscious driver was transported to a local hospital where her injuries were demeaned life threatening by a doctor. The initial investigation indicates the sedan was southbound on Woodsdale Ln and the minivan was eastbound on Capital [sic] Ave. The sedan failed to yield to the minivan at the intersection. It is unknown whether drugs and/or alcohol are factors in the crash, and speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The minivan was occupied by four people. Two of the occupants of the minivan, one being a small child, received minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT team and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
