On February 21, 2025, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported multiple house fire in the area of East Pontiac and Caroline Streets.
Battalion Chief 11 arrived on the scene first to find a 2-story house completely involved in fire, and the adjacent house also on fire. The first home was reported as vacant by neighbors and was extinguished with an aerial ladder truck. The adjacent home was searched for victims and the fire extinguished with handlines.

Five persons evacuated the adjacent home safely. A third home was also damaged. No injuries occurred and the cause is being investigated.
