On May 29th, 2024 the Fort Wayne Police Department responded at roughly 6:47AM to the area of 1500 Harry Baals Dr; Johnny Appleseed Park, regarding a vehicle in the river. A passing motorist advised they could see the vehicle halfway submerged in the river. The vehicle in the river was a stolen Dodge Durango and Fire Dept. personnel soon advised that they didn’t locate any people in or around the vehicle. A tow truck pulled the vehicle from the water.
