FWPD: Child Abuse Arrest, 400 block Wildwood Avenue

On March 16, 2023, the Indiana Department of Child Services notified the Fort Wayne Police Department about child abuse which had resulted in bodily injury to a young child.

  3. Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Bodily Injury, Level 5 Felony
  4. Domestic Battery with Bodily Injury to a Person Under 14, Level 5 Felony
  5. Domestic Battery with Bodily Injury to a Person Under 14, Level 5 Felony

Details/Summary:

On March 16, 23, the Indiana Department of Child Services notified the Fort Wayne Police Department about child abuse which resulted in bodily injury to a young child. Detective Sergeant James Haupert adopted the case. He learned during his investigation that Elicia Nicole Hurmon was allegedly responsible for causing the injuries to the child. An arrest warrant was issued on April 16, 2024. She was arrested by the Allen County Warrants Division later that day. Detective Sergeant Haupert was also assisted by the Dr. Bill Lewis Center For Children.
