COVID-19 update

The weekly COVID-19 update from the Allen County Department of Health, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This update covers the period of Friday, April 1, 2022, to Thursday, April 7, 2022:

April 8, 2022: Allen County COVID-19 update

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 8, 2022) – Another three Allen County residents died and 65 tested positive for COVID-19 this week, with 35 confirmed PCR cases and 30 probable antigen cases, bringing the total to 104,302 cases and 1,139 deaths as of this date.

Please note:
The reassignment this week of a past Allen County COVID-19 death to another country by the Indiana Department of Health affected our count. We’re reporting three new deaths this week, but the total number rose by only two to 1,139 because the reassigned death was removed from our overall count.

The Allen County case count includes a total of 49,437 probable cases from antigen tests reported since July 2020.

Updates to positive cases and deaths in Allen County are found on the Department’s COVID-19 website at https://www.allencountyhealth.com/get-informed/covid-19/ and will be time-stamped to keep the public informed with the latest local data.

Basic demographic information on Allen County cases is provided on the website and will be updated at least once a week.

Because of delays in data reporting to and from the state, Allen County case counts may not always immediately match counts provided by the Indiana State Department of Health at https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/.
