Fort Wayne, Indiana (March 30, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1100 block of Eliza Street on March 30, 2021, at 8:43 am.
The first crews on the scene found heavy fire blowing out of the front first and second-floor windows. Fire and smoke were also coming out of additional windows on the second floor. A report of possible victims still in the home was communicated by an adult outside the structure.
Firefighters ran several lines into the first and second floors for fire control and additional fire crews completed searches of the first and second floors. Fire crews found no victims inside the structure upon completion of searches.
The fire was under control in less than twenty-five minutes. The home suffered heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.
Fire Investigators determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
Firefighters were assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Indiana Michigan Power, NIPSCO, and the American Red Cross.
