FORT WAYNE INDIANA (January 1, 2021) – The average temperature for the year was 51.9 degrees, which is 1.4 degrees above the normal of 50.5 degrees. This ties for the 14th warmest year on record.
There were 25 days with a high temperature of 90 degrees or warmer, Which is about 12 days above the climate normal of 13 days. There were 129 days with a low temperature at or below freezing. This was About 6 days below normal. There were 0 days with a low temperature at or below zero, which is about 7 days below normal.
Total precipitation for the year was 37.24 inches, which is 1.10 inches below the normal of 38.34 inches. There were 8 days this year with 1 inch or more of precipitation, which is about 1 day more than normal.
Total snowfall for the year was 18.8 inches, which is a whopping 14.7 inches below the normal of 33.5 inches. This is the least amount of annual snowfall since 2006 when 13.8 inches were observed, but similar to 2017 with 18.6 inches.
