Death Investigation

Details:
On June 28, 2018, at 12:05 am Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Harrison and Fourth Street in reference to a shooting. Officers were advised that there was a victim on the ground on the sidewalk at the intersection.
Upon Officers arrival on scene they located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived on scene and began medical care of the victim and he was transported to a local hospital in Critical Condition.
As Officers arrived on scene they were getting calls of a vehicle that had struck a parked car on Fourth Street just West of Wells Street. Officers were getting information that the accident may be associated with the shooting. Upon their arrival on scene of this accident they located a passenger car that had struck a parked car along the curb. Inside the vehicle officers found 2 adult males both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and began medical care of the victims. Paramedics pronounced one of the victims deceased inside the vehicle. The other victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Detectives of the Fort Wayne Police Department and Crime Scene Technicians were called to the scene. Due to the large size of the potential crime scene Fourth Street was closed from Clinton to West of Wells Street. Detectives were speaking with multiple witnesses along Fourth Street. They were working to try to establish a sequence of events that took place regarding this incident due to the distance between the location of the initial victim to that of the other 2 victims. Crime Scene Technicians worked along the entire span of the potential crime scene to look for any evidence associated with this incident.
A short time later while Detectives were still on scene they were advised that the other 2 victims that had been transported to local hospitals had been pronounced deceased as well.

The identities of the victims as well as the exact cause and manner of death will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Agencies assisting in this incident were the Fort Wayne Fire Department, and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority
Fourth Street and a small portion of Wells Street that were closed for this investigation were both re-opened around 2:30 am.
