News release from the TinCaps:
TinCaps Launch Mobile Game – Go Johnny Go!
Team partners with Reusser Design to create mobile game starring Johnny TinCap
(July 29, 2016) — The Fort Wayne TinCaps have partnered with Roanoke, IN based web design agency, Reusser Design, to launch a mobile application and game. “Go Johnny Go” is currently available for iOS devices and is the first venture into the mobile application landscape for the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
“Go Johnny Go” centers around Johnny TinCap, the team’s popular and loveable mascot. Players have the opportunity to maneuver Johnny through the streets of Fort Wayne, Indiana as he makes his way home to the TinCaps ballpark, Parkview Field. Johnny will run as long as he has energy, which is sourced through collecting apples. Apples provide boosts, while being hit by a baseball will deplete Johnny’s endurance.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to extend the TinCaps experience beyond the ballpark,” stated TinCaps Vice President of Marketing, Michael Limmer. “We wanted to create something for the fans that extended beyond the ballpark. ‘Go Johnny Go’ is fun, exciting, and challenging — exactly what we hoped it would be.”
This endeavor was an exciting “first” for Reusser Design. While mobile applications are nothing new for the web agency, this was their first attempt at an interactive mobile game.
“Working with the TinCaps was a great opportunity,” said Reusser Design President, Nate Reusser. “We’ve always had the desire to show what we could do with a mobile game, and our team of developers took on the challenge to create something great. We’re excited for people to get a chance to play ‘Go Johnny Go,’ and try it for themselves.”
“Go Johnny Go” is available in the Apple App Store now. For more information on the game and download instructions, visit www.TinCapsApp.com. You can also search Go Johnny Go in the Apple App Store.
