News release from the Fort Wayne Police Department:
Armed Barricaded Subject
Date: June 18th, 2016
Time: 1:02 p.m.
Location: 10800 Patrician Place
Psychological Detention/Evaluation: Adult Male
Details:
On 6/18/16 at approximately 1:02pm Officers responded to a report of an armed subject at 10800 Patrician Place. Preliminary information indicates that the complainant party called police in regards to her husband having a gun. She stated that her husband pointed the gun at himself and attempted to get his 7 year old step son to pull the trigger. The complainant party made it out of the house safely with her son and called Police.
Police arrived and attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect refused to come out of the house. Police established a perimeter around the house and at 1:28pm paged the Emergency Service Team and Crisis Response Team.
As the EST/CRT Teams arrived, contact was established with the suspect. The suspect surrendered and came out without conflict after a short verbal exchange with Police. The suspect was taken, by Police, for a psychological evaluation at a local hospital. There were no injuries associated with this incident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office.
