Fort Wayne City Clerk Sandy Kennedy has told AroundFortWayne she will not seek re-election this year.
Clerk Kennedy has held the office since May 1983. According to her biography on the City of Fort Wayne’s website:
Sandy started in city government in 1980 when she was appointed to the Board of Public Works by former Mayor Win Moses.Sandy was elected to serve the un-expired term of the former Clerk Charles Westerman in May of 1983 and was elected by the citizens to serve a full term in November 1983. She has been re-elected in the elections of 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011.
Angie Davis, currently Deputy City Clerk, will be running for the Democrats. No announcement date has been announced.
