NARRATIVE:
On Saturday October 11, 2014 at approximately 8:27am I responded to #### Stowaway CV in reference to a burglary that had occurred over night while the residences were a sleep.
Upon arrival I saw a “for sale” sign in the front yard and a lock box on the front door. I made contact with #### and ##### ###### who advised that their home had been broken into overnight while they were asleep in their bedroom. ###### stated that she went to bed around midnight and then woke up at what she thought was approximately 2am when she saw a light on in the living room. ####### stated that she left her bedroom and found the dining room light on and the basement light on which she thought was odd, but thought that her husband had gotten up in the middle of the night and just left the lights on by accident. ###### stated that she turned the lights off and returned to bed.
###### stated that she got up around 8am and walked out to get the morning paper and found the garage door(overhead) open and the garage light on, which she thought was very odd. ###### stated that she came back inside the residence and that’s when she noticed items had been stolen from the home.
Several items were taken from inside the residence (see property templates for more details) TV’s, computer, Ipads, Iphone, purse, wallet and all content, antique clock, antique stamps, DVD stand w/ misc dvds, Bose Radio/cd.
I left two additional loss forms at the scene and advised the victims to fill out the forms and return them to 1 E Main St. I advised that if they could find additional information on the items that had been stolen it could be added later and would be beneficial to have serial numbers/model numbers. Furthermore they could add additional items if they found other items missing from their home.
The suspects stole the victim’s purse and wallet which both had several credit cards. The victims deactivated their cards but were advised by their bank that the cards had been used/attempted to be used at Walmart store (4230) and Krogers.
##### and ###### had checked to see if their iphone/ipads could be tracked but they had been turned off by the suspects.
I advised #### and ###### that my report would be forwarded to the detective bureau and that they would be in contact in the future.
I dusted for finger prints on the TV stand in the living room and also a closet door that had been opened by the suspects that was in the entry way to the home. I also took 13 photos. I later placed the evidence (picture frame that had been moved) and prints into the property room and the photos were downloaded to veri-pic.
I found out that Walmart store (4230) is the Lima Rd Walmart I contacted the store but loss prevention was not in. I spoke to store manager who advised me that the store video is kept for over 100 days and that the detectives could contact loss prevention later and get the tapes recorded.
