News release from the Allen County SPCA:
Allen County SPCA partners with other agencies at Pet Supplies Plus
(October 17, 2014) – If you’ve been considering adopting a new four-legged family member, consider doing so at the Pet Supplies Plus “Opt to Adopt” National Adoption Event this weekend. Save a pet’s life and enrich your own with the pure joy that only a tail wag can bring.
This weekend the Allen County SPCA will be partnering with other area rescues at Pet Supplies Plus in the Jo-Ann Plaza, 4714 Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne. Both adoptable canines and felines will be available. “These sorts of events are so great for our shelter,” said Jessica Henry, shelter director. “Not only do the dogs get to go on a field trip for the day, but they stand a great chance at finding their forever homes,” Henry continued.
The event will take place Saturday, October 18 from noon-3.
Anyone interested in same-day adoptions from the Allen County SPCA should bring proof of current vaccines for any pets already living in the home, and tenants should bring verification of approval from landlords. Dog owners should plan to have their current dogs interact with the shelter dog prior to adoption.
