USF Dept. of Philosophy and Theology 2014-2015 Lecture Series
(August 21, 2014) – The Department of Philosophy and Theology at the University of Saint Francis invites you to the free public lecture, “Demons and Watchers: Killing the Life of the Mind,” on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. in the Brookside ballroom on the main campus at 2701 Spring St., Fort Wayne. The lecture is the first in a series to be offered by university faculty members throughout the academic year.
In a brief talk, Dr. Lewis Pearson, assistant professor of philosophy, will argue that our capacities for communicating and seeking truth have been degraded by a reliance on jargon at the expense of logic and the enshrinement of the so-called virtue of “being unbiased.”
