City on the Move – Closing in on Completion
City Utilities Customer Service Opens at Citizens Square Monday
Minor Delays for 311 through Monday
City offices moving today through Monday include: Mayor Henry and staff, the Law Department, Public Information, a portion of 311, Board of Works, Purchasing, and City Utilities Customer Service and Customer Relations.
Customers of Fort Wayne City Utilities will begin making payments in the City Utilities Customer Relations Department On Monday May 23rd on the first floor of Citizens Square at 200 E. Berry. Street. Customer parking is available at meters around the Citizens Square building on Wayne, Barr and Berry Streets. City Utilities customers should enter the building through the door on the south (Wayne Street) side of the building.
Hours for the City Utilities Customer Relations Department will remain the same: 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Mondays and Fridays are typically the busiest for the department, so for faster service City Utilities suggests that customers visit or call during the middle of the week or at off hours such as the early morning or late afternoon.
The Customer Relations Department will close its office at One East Main Street at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 20
The City’s 311 Center will move a portion of its operation today and the rest next week. During this brief transition period, 311 will remain open and all calls will be answered in the order they are received. However wait times could be higher than normal during the transition period and throughout the week of May 23rd as computers and phones are reconnected for the 311 call center. As always, residents can also contact and relay information to 311 through the City’s website at cityoffortwayne.org and click on the 311 logo.
Next week will complete the City’s portion of the move to Citizens Square with the City Council Chambers and the City Clerk’s Office moving on Tuesday the 25th.
