Hispanic Heritage Month 2010 Kickoff Celebration
Celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month with a kickoff event at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) fiesta style. The kickoff is Tuesday, Sept. 14 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Ballroom. It’s free and open to the public.
The celebration will include Latino food, and music by DJ Phat Sound, a.k.a. Cesar Ruiz. Ruiz is an IPFW graduate and former president of Hispanos Unidos who now spins regularly at the popular Fort Wayne night club Cancun.
Other highlights include performances by eight-year-old wonder drummer Cedric Evens Jr. and the IPFW Dancin’ Dons. Salsa and Meringue lessons and a contest will be facilitated by Jesus Rosario.
