Farnsworth TV Museum Collection Auctioned Off

(AUBURN, IN. – June 15, 2010) – This Saturday the entire collection of the Philo T. Farnsworth Television Museum will go on the auction block. Auction goers will be able to bid on a large selection of television history including vintage televisions and radios, tubes, cameras, advertising, Farnsworth company documents and schematics, vintage local television and radio promotional items and a large collection of television pop culture items.

When: Saturday, June 19 bidding begins at 10am (doors open at 9am) Auction preview Friday 6/18

Where: Kruse World War II Victory Museum Auburn, Indiana off of I-69 (CR 11A)

Why: The museum must move from its current location and while there has been some outside parties interested in housing the collection no suitable location was found. Consequently, Dr. Hofer has decided to liquidate his collection in the hope that the irreplaceable historical items will find owners appreciative of their pedigree and value.
