This weekend is “Muster at the St. Mary’s” at Old Fort Wayne. The hours are Saturday 11 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM.
From the Old Fort website:
Have you ever wanted to talk with Dr. Benjamin Franklin? Do you know what weapons the army in the Medieval era used? What were the French Settlers like when they inhabited this area? What was life really like for the Continental Army? Can you tell the difference between the War of 1812 and the Civil War? How was life for the women and children in all of these decades different to the current one? Join Historic Fort Wayne at the Old Fort downtown on May 16th & 17th and meet the Friends of the Fort as these and numerous other questions are answered. The Old Fort will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th, and 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th. For more information, either visit the website or call (260) 460-4763.
For the first part of the morning I kept hearing loud booms. I could not figure our where they were coming from and it was just , shall I say Interesting? When I was on Fourth Street around noon I noticed a large grouping of school busses. Ahhh , cannon fire from the Fort! That explaind the loud booms!I hope the kids enjoyed and learned something too!
It sure sounded like someone should have been having a good time. The fun continues all weekend!
