An Open House for Harrison Square was held at the Grand Wayne Center tonight. There were about 125 people in attendance including many representatives from the developers of the project. City officials were non-existence with the exception of Greg Leatherman and one of the City’s PIOs. A short program was given with Mike Nutter, General Manager of the Fort Wayne Wizards baseball team introducing Jason Freier. Mr. Freier is the owner of Hardball Capital which owns the Wizards and is building the Retail/Condo portion of the project. He spoke briefly, guiding us through the updated fly-throughs. (The fly-through is available at Indiana New Center.) He then introduced Scott Travis of White Lodging Services who spoke briefly about the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel to be built at the Northwest corner of the Harrison Street and Jefferson Boulevard intersection. There will be a Champions Restaurant/Sports Bar to be built on the ground floor of the new hotel in the Northeast corner of the building. This is not to be confused with the Champs that has been talked about in The Harrison condo/retail building. Mr. Freier concluded the program by asking for input from the audience members about different seating styles, types of brick to be used and other interior components.
