Harrison Square Walkway Approval

Approval was given to the Harrison Square Walkway proposal today at the Redevelopment Commission and Local Historic Preservation Board’s meetings.  The walkway will enter the building as shown here:

Highlights:

  • The Goldstine Foundation will give $550,000 for costs of the project.

  • Due to additions to the project, the cost will be $1,831,394 instead of the first reported $1 million.  This is because of an added elevator, elevator shaft,  stairwells and reconfiguration of a storage area on the third floor.

  • The walkway will not physically connect into the Indiana Hotel, instead, expansion joints will complete the connection.

  • The project will be completed by the time the new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel opens.
