{"id":9687,"date":"2010-01-14T21:17:17","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T02:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/?p=9687"},"modified":"2026-10-13T09:59:22","modified_gmt":"2026-10-13T13:59:22","slug":"leesburg-road-bridge-replacement-work-to-begin-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2010\/01\/14\/leesburg-road-bridge-replacement-work-to-begin-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Leesburg Road Bridge replacement work to begin Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/icons\/AC_seal.jpg\" alt=\"Allen County Board of Commissioners Seal\" align=\"middle\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today, the Allen County Highway Department announced the Leesburg Road Bridge over the Seegar Ditch will be closed beginning January 18, 2010.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Allen County Highway Department news release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Leesburg Road Bridge Replacement Work to Begin Monday<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Project to close portion of Leesburg through mid-May<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(January 13, 2010) &#8211; The Allen County Highway Department announced today that the Leesburg Road Bridge over the Seegar Ditch will be closed beginning Monday, January 18, as work begins to replace the 45-year-old structure.<\/p>\n<p>Leesburg Road will be closed between O&#8217;Day Road and Flaugh Road during the construction, which is expected to be completed in mid-May. Posted detour routes will be established. The detour route for eastbound traffic will be south on O&#8217;Day to Arcola Road to Flaugh and back to Leesburg and reverse for westbound traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The project consists of removing the existing bridge originally constructed in 1965 and replacing it with a new three-span bridge 60 and a-half feet long and 32 feet wide. New pavement approaches will also be constructed.<\/p>\n<p>RL McCoy, Inc. will perform the construction work after submitting the low bid of $396,940.
