For those who are looking to take a healthy first step in 2010, Lutheran Hospital&#8217;s nutritional services department is offering two six-week classes to help reduce cardiovascular and heart disease. Registered dietitians will help attendees separate fact from fad and translate the latest nutritional findings into practical food choices.<\/p>\n<p>Lutheran&#8217;s registered dietitian facilitating the class will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify cardiac risk markers;<\/li>\n<li>Provide nutrition principles for a healthy heart;<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the benefits of plant-based eating;<\/li>\n<li>Teach how to grocery shop and eat out in a heart-healthy way;<\/li>\n<li>Provide assistance with meal preparation for hands-on learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Classes take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.
