Flavor of Fall on Thursday, November 5, 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Flavor of Fall is a free admission, free food fundraising event for the Brenda Hanchar Foundation. It will be held November 4th from 4pm to 7pm at the historic Baker Street Train Station.<\/p>\n

Guests will have the opportunity to sample local celebrity and talented chef’s Chili, Soup, Chowder or Gumbo and vote for their favorite Flavor of Fall. Each dollar counts as a vote; ie. twenty dollars counts as twenty votes, etc.<\/p>\n

Admission is free to the cook-off. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, cash bar and live music from the University of Saint Francis Jazz Ensemble. If you are unable to attend a donation would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n

The Flavor of Fall fundraising cook-off benefits the Brenda Hanchar Foundation. The Foundation is a local non-profit organization providing durable medical equipment, medical supplies, and prescription assistance to the low-income, uninsured residents of Northeast Indiana.<\/p>\n

Chefs for the 2008 Flavor of Fall included<\/strong>:
\nMichael Packnett, President and CEO Parkview Hospital; Donna Packnett, wife of Michael Packnett; Jane Avery, Community Harvest Food Bank; Richard Stevenson, Wayne Township Trustee; Father Tom Shoemaker, Pastor St. Jude Catholic Church; John Clendenen, Leo Town Council President; The Fort Wayne Derby Girls; and Famous Ron Tipton. Also, in attendance last year was Fort Wayne’s Mayor Tom Henry to proclaim November 6th ‘Brenda Hanchar Foundation Day’.<\/p>\n
