On Saturday, 07\/04\/2020, at approximately 11:16 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Drexel Avenue reference a shooting. Witnesses called dispatch to report a subject had been shot and was being transported to the hospital via private conveyance.<\/p>\n

Officers responding to the scene were flagged down by the occupants of a vehicle near the intersection of South Anthony Blvd. and Colerick Street. The driver of the vehicle advised they had a shooting victim in their backseat. Officers observed the male\/adult victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. <\/p>\n

Officers located evidence confirming the shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Drexel Avenue. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with potential witnesses. There is no suspect information to provide at this time. <\/p>\n

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney\u2019s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
