Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Foundation announces cancellation of 2020 Charity Classic and Red Coat Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(May 8, 2020) \u2014 Given the continued uncertainty around COVID-19 and the guidelines laid out in Governor Holcomb\u2019s Back on Track plan, the Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Charity Classic and Red Coat Dinner, which were scheduled for June 14-15. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis was obviously not an easy decision, but we believe it is the right one out of respect for our community\u2019s health and safety \u2013 as well as because of the uncertainty we expect to continue into June,\u201d said Sherri Miller, president of the Mad Anthonys board of directors. \u201cWhile we won\u2019t have the Charity Classic or Red Coat Dinner this year, our hope and plan is to still be able to present a gift of support to the Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Hope House for 2020. And we definitely look forward to putting on a grand event in 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n

To date, the Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Foundation has donated more than $5 million to the Children\u2019s Hope House since the start of its partnership. <\/p>\n

\nThe Mad Anthonys is a charitable organization founded in 1957 and comprised of business leaders and professionals from northeast Indiana. The Mad Anthonys Charity Classic for Children is one of the country\u2019s premier charity golf events, raising millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne. In 2007, Mad Anthonys began a partnership with Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Hope House, dedicating its fundraising efforts to the organization.<\/p>\n

\nThe Mad Anthonys Children\u2019s Hope House provides nearby lodging and support services for the families of children undergoing pediatric and neonatal treatment. Because Fort Wayne has become a healthcare hub for all of northern Indiana, southern Michigan and western Ohio, this function is critical to the families of children with severe illnesses and conditions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
