Telehealth or virtual visits enable patients to talk with providers just as they would in the doctor\u2019s office, but without leaving the comfort of home. Appointments are available for new and existing patients. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cContinuity of care is important to us, as is the safety of patients and staff during this time when social distancing and staying at home are critical, \u201dsays Dan Konow, Chief Executive Officer, Lutheran Health Physicians. \u201cTelehealth can be a solution for many who need to see a provider.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Although some appointments require a physical examination in order for the provider to meet the standard of care and make fully informed decisions, many visits can be managed well through virtual interaction. These may include certain visits for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minor illnesses such as colds and allergies<\/li>\n<li>Minor injuries such as sprains<\/li>\n<li>Annual wellness visits<\/li>\n<li>Follow-up care<\/li>\n<li>Medication management<\/li>\n<li>Chronic disease management<\/li>\n<li>Back pain<\/li>\n<li>Other specialty care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many insurance plans cover telehealth visits. Video visits are typically required, although some plans will cover telephone visits. Patients should check plan coverage or ask when making an appointment. <\/p>\n<p>To make a telehealth appointment, call the provider\u2019s office directly or Lutheran Health Physicians at (260) 432-2297. The practice will provide instructions about the telehealth visit when the appointment is scheduled.
