The closure includes the two western most lanes on Clinton Street, and is expected to last through mid-summer. Clinton, at this intersection, will be restricted to the two eastern lanes heading south during this construction.<\/p>\n<p>After this portion is complete, crews will move down the street, between Clinton and Barr Street to construct the final part of the consolidation sewer. That work will wrap-up in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>A consolidation sewer is a near-surface sewer that collects or consolidates the flow from existing sewer pipes. Currently, the combined sewage (sanitary and stormwater) in a large area of the central business district, from Baker Street to Superior, discharges 4.88 million gallons per year into the St. Marys River.
