The budget for Community Development may be downloaded here.<\/p>\n<p>John Urbahns, Community Development Director. \u00c2\u00a0His presentation will be posted a little later. \u00c2\u00a0He&#8217;s going to give an update of projects worked on this year.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Smith &#8211; sidewalk planning initiative. \u00c2\u00a0Talking about the pedestrian incident on Lahymeyer (spp?) Road. \u00c2\u00a0Shows the important of this initiative. \u00c2\u00a0John -\u00c2\u00a0connectivity\u00c2\u00a0is a big issue and you can&#8217;t walk along a lot of our collector and\u00c2\u00a0arterial\u00c2\u00a0streets.<\/p>\n<p>Marty Bender &#8211; 5363 was shifting of staff to County. \u00c2\u00a0Document recording &#8211; documents are recorded at Neighborhood Code when liens are placed. \u00c2\u00a0Building rent &#8211; significant drop. \u00c2\u00a0Potential move into Renaissance Square.<\/p>\n<p>John Shoaff &#8211; importance of facade grants and sidewalks. \u00c2\u00a0More on-street parking &#8211; Superior Street is needed. \u00c2\u00a0There is coordination between departments. \u00c2\u00a0Has been discussion about on-street on Jefferson. \u00c2\u00a0A trial period of sorts with the closing of the right lane of Jefferson Boulevard being closed for the construction. \u00c2\u00a0Greg Leatherman reports to the Commission and John.<\/p>\n<p>Karen Goldner &#8211; really impressive Neighborhood Stabilization Program tour. \u00c2\u00a0Recording needs to be done. \u00c2\u00a0Failure would result in properties to be sold \u00c2\u00a0and bought without liens or with. \u00c2\u00a0Consulting Services &#8211; $46,574 &#8211; comprised of funds for specialized projects. \u00c2\u00a0One firm is working with them on downtown design guidelines. \u00c2\u00a0Just a number to bring others into line. \u00c2\u00a0Bike Task Force is being handled internally. \u00c2\u00a0Most projects are internal. \u00c2\u00a0On the design guidelines, it had not been planned for and needed specialized work. \u00c2\u00a0Plus legal connectivity issues.<\/p>\n<p>Line 5369 goes to County for 40% of City-County Land Use department. \u00c2\u00a0$8,000 is for GPS or GIS maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a training session for Community Development Area Plans; what they can and can&#8217;t do, what they need to do to change it.<\/p>\n<p>Mitch Harper &#8211; part of the fee for the document recording stays inside local government at the County level. \u00c2\u00a0Fines go back into General Fund, not their department.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Smith &#8211; travel budget is up about $2,063. \u00c2\u00a0Attributed to GIS migration. \u00c2\u00a0531S &#8211; training is going up as well.<\/p>\n<p>Liz Brown &#8211; Karen Goldner is sharing the Accela software isn&#8217;t working, however, they are progressing on it.<\/p>\n<p>Spend about $500,000 on demolitions. \u00c2\u00a0If we get the $62 m, some of it could be used for demolitions. \u00c2\u00a0Had New Market Tax Credits since last fall. \u00c2\u00a0Talked with several developers, but no one has come through. \u00c2\u00a0One of the problems is that they must have financing in place and close in a short amount of time.<\/p>\n<p>Purchased Renaissance Square, paid for it with CEDIT dollars. \u00c2\u00a0Are you concerned about the loss of those CEDIT dollar availability? \u00c2\u00a0They have talked with Controller&#8217;s Office about the concerns. \u00c2\u00a0Will have to keep an eye on the balances to make sure there is enough for projects. \u00c2\u00a0Will the $1.2 million annually affect Community Development projects?
