The budget for Communications may be downloaded here.<\/p>\n<p>Mitch Harper &#8211; doesn&#8217;t include radio replacement.<\/p>\n<p>Motorola support is ending. \u00c2\u00a0After January, 2010, may not be able to get parts. \u00c2\u00a0He has contacted the Connecticut State police for a part they are removing, which Fort Wayne will buy for back up.<\/p>\n<p>It will take a full year to\u00c2\u00a0evaluate\u00c2\u00a0options, request for quotes &#8211; most definitely be a 12-month time period.<\/p>\n<p>$14 million approximate share of the City&#8217;s cost for new radio system. \u00c2\u00a0This would be for 50% of the infrastructure. \u00c2\u00a0City has 3-1 share of equipment in field. \u00c2\u00a0Will be dependent on each piece of equipment and whether or not it will need to be updated.<\/p>\n<p>Operationally, there would be a few programming changes needed when 9-1-1 consolidation\u00c2\u00a0occurs.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure if it will be an RFP or RFQ process. \u00c2\u00a0Would be handled by MCAP. \u00c2\u00a0It would be nice to have some of the processes shared with Council.<\/p>\n<p>Mitch Harper &#8211; any communications with school corporations to join
