The goal is to improve data collection and help ISDH and local health departments more quickly deploy all necessary resources to help limit the spread of the disease.<\/p>\n<p>The order signed by State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, requires the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Laboratories must report all negative COVID-19 test results for Indiana residents to ISDH within 24 hours of completing the test. Currently, all positive results must be reported to ISDH.<\/li>\n<li>All long-term care facilities, jails, prisons, or other congregate housing facilities must report positive COVID-19 test results for all patients, residents, offenders and employees within 24 hours of receiving a positive result.<\/li>\n<li>All long-term care facilities, jails, prisons or other congregate housing facilities are required to report any COVID-19-related deaths or suspected COVID-19-related deaths of patients, residents, offenders or employees to ISDH within 24 hours of the facilities\u2019 knowledge of the death.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While many providers and laboratories have been following these processes, this order ensures uniformity and timeliness in the reporting of cases and deaths.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of the order is attached and will be posted at <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.in.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coronavirus.in.gov<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Related Images:<\/h3><div class=\"ngg-related-gallery\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/gallery\/20210305\/t20210305_Holcomb_COVID_vaccination-04.jpg\"\n\t\t\ttitle=\"Left to right: IMS President J.
