Residents will have until May 8 to sign up.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be found online at <a href=\"https:\/\/allencounty.us\/highway-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">allencounty.us\/highway-department<\/a>. Once the form is completed, print it and mail it back with a check or money order. Applicants can also call any of the Highway Department phone numbers to submit a verbal application. In person applications are suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Payments can be made by check or money order and mailed to: Allen County Highway Department, 200 East Berry Street, Suite 280, Ft Wayne, IN 46802.<\/p>\n<p>Once again this year, residents are able to choose from two options \u2014 applications of either Dustay, which is an asphalt emulsion, or calcium chloride. The Highway Department will charge $2.25 per linear foot for the Dustay, while the cost for calcium chloride will be $1.45 per linear foot. Either option requires a minimum 200 foot application.<\/p>\n<p>The department will schedule with the suppliers to begin placing the dust control materials after May 11, depending on weather and road conditions.
