Location<\/strong>: 7300 block of Capri Drive<\/p>\n

Details<\/strong>: <\/p>\n

On March 21, 2020, at 3:51am, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a home in the 7300 block of Capri Dr. regarding an adult female who was armed with a gun and making threats of suicide. Officers began trying to communicate with the female, hoping to have her exit the home so she could be taken to a hospital. <\/p>\n

The Crisis Response Team and the Emergency Services Team were requested due to their enhanced capabilities to respond to a person in crisis. Members of these teams tried for several hours to communicate with the female with no success.<\/p>\n

Shortly after 8:00am, officers entered the residence hoping to provide aid to the female, but the officers discovered that the female was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Per protocol, this incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Coroner\u2019s Office, who will determine the exact cause and manner of death. <\/p>\n

There is nothing further at this time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
