State Boulevard Progress Continues as Additional Lane Restrictions Begin Wednesday<\/strong>
\nTraffic Delays Expected<\/em>
\n
\n(April 24, 2018) – As the State Boulevard improvement project continues, new lane restrictions will begin tomorrow near the intersection of Clinton Street and State. On Wednesday afternoon, April 25, Clinton, just north of State will be reduced to one southbound lane as crews begin the installation of a stormwater pipe. The lane that will remain open to traffic is the one that’s on the furthest east side of the road.
\nThe lane restriction is expected to last through Thursday, May 2 when traffic will be shifted over to the two lanes that are the furthest west on Clinton.
\nMotorists may want to consider a different route as traffic will be slow moving and delays will occur during this time.
\nOn State between Spy Run Avenue and Clinton, traffic is currently re-routed using the north side lanes.
\nTraffic modifications will occur throughout the project. Motorists are advised to slow down, watch for signage and stay alert.
\nThis year the construction is for Phase I of the State Boulevard project \u00e2\u20ac\u201d between Clinton and Spy Run. It includes the addition of a westbound travel lane, a trail buffered by a park strip on the south side of the road, a sidewalk on the north side, decorative lighting, and an improved turn lane for eastbound traffic wanting to turn north onto Spy Run.
\nIn 2019, Phase II will focus on State between Cass Street and Clinton. The project will replace a 91-year-old bridge over the Spy Run Creek, realignment of the road, additional travel lanes in each direction, a turn lane where needed, a protected sidewalk on the north side and a trail on the south side of the road, landscaping, and decorative lighting. The entire project, including restoration, wraps-up in 2020.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
