New Tech students show-off downtown designs<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(March 7, 2016) – Freshmen at New Tech Academy at Wayne High School will share their ideas for downtown redevelopment with city leaders from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the Grand Wayne Center, Convention Hall C.<\/p>\n

Students have been working on the project in their World Studies class, a class that incorporates geography and language arts, as part of their study on urbanization vs. urban sprawl. City officials commissioned students to give a youthful look at what downtown Fort Wayne should look like with a focus on interconnecting a sense of community and urban development.<\/p>\n

Student groups will present their ideas in a Gallery Walk format to local leaders, including elected officials, city planners, business leaders and others. Students will present their ideas and answer questions about their designs to those who participate in the Gallery Walk. Those participating will then fill out an evaluation form, providing feedback to the students.<\/p>\n
