FWCS joins Twitter and Facebook<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne Community Schools has joined the social networking crowd with district information is now being posted on Twitter and Facebook. FWCS will be using the sites to post notices on upcoming events, school and district happenings and weather delays and cancellations.<\/p>\n

Twitter users can find the district by searching for FWCS. The district’s username is FtWayneCommSkls. Facebook users can find the district page by searching for Fort Wayne Community Schools<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It is important we find ways to communicate with our families and the community in ways that are convenient for them,” said Krista Stockman, public information officer. “Social networking sites are a daily part of many peoples’ lives. As busy as families are today, we want to make it as easy as possible for them to get information from us.”<\/p>\n

FWCS first used Facebook in January to promote the School Choice Fair and found many people liked being able to connect with the school district in that way. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
