(April 3, 2017) \u00e2\u20ac\u201d The Padres have revealed the TinCaps’ 2017 Opening Day roster<\/a> and now fans can get their first look at the new squad with Meet the Team Night on Wednesday (5-8 p.m.) at Parkview Field. <\/p>\n

Fans will have an up-close view of the team’s practice, followed by an autograph-signing session. The event is free. Food and drinks will be available for sale. <\/p>\n

“Meet the Team Night is such an excellent event for fans, especially families,” said TinCaps President Mike Nutter. “It’s also great for the new players here to see how special our fans are. Parkview Field has never looked better and we’ve never had a more exciting group of young prospects here. Wednesday will be a great way to kick off another outstanding season of TinCaps baseball.”<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne’s Opening Day roster features five players ranked among San Diego’s Top 30 Prospects, according to MLB.com. That includes shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (No. 8 on the list), outfielder Jorge O\u00c3\u00b1a (No. 9), infielder Hudson Potts (No. 14), left-handed pitcher Logan Allen (No. 19), and outfielder Buddy Reed (No. 30). <\/p>\n

Allen is one of 12 players who spent at least part of last season with the TinCaps. First baseman Brad Zunica, who led the club in home runs a year ago with 14, is another.<\/p>\n

The TinCaps officially begin the 2017 season on Thursday on the road against the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays). Opening Day at Parkview Field is Saturday (6:05 p.m.) as the TinCaps host Bowling Green. <\/p>\n

Fans in attendance on Opening Day will receive a free TinCaps Magnet Schedule and be treated to Postgame Fireworks. Tickets to all 2017 TinCaps games are available at TinCapsTickets.com<\/a>, by calling 260-482-6400, and at the Parkview Field Ticket Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
