Fort Wayne Community Schools opens its doors for another year<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne Community Schools got off to a great start Monday, Aug. 24, with more than 32,000 students enrolled for the 2009-10 school year.<\/p>\n

As of today, 32,010 students were registered for class. Official count numbers will not be known until Sept. 18 when the data is collected for the state. Until then numbers will fluctuate as students continue to enroll and enrolled students who did not arrive in the classroom are taken off the lists. Last year’s official enrollment was 31,400.<\/p>\n

Bus service was typical for the first day of school with about 95 percent of the routes delivering students to school on time. With the exception of three buses, all students were dropped off by 9 a.m.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
