American Red Cross to hold 2009 Rock and Roll Up Your Sleeves Blood Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n

92.3 The Fort will sponsor drive that makes donors feel like rock stars<\/p>\n

Music is a way for artists to influence and give hope to those around them. This year, the American Red Cross is giving blood donors the opportunity to have a similar impact in our community. Tuesday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 29, the annual Rock And Roll Up Your Sleeves Blood Drive hosted by 92.3 The Fort will help community members feel like rock stars when they give the gift of life to those in need.<\/p>\n

All presenting donors will receive a commemorative t-shirt, have a chance to win a daily drawing for a pair of tickets to the Queensryche Oct. 30 concert at Pierre’s (courtesy of 92.3 The Fort) and will be entered into a weekly regional drawing for a $500 Meijer gift card.<\/p>\n

As Labor Day quickly approaches and summer winds down, the Red Cross is asking eligible donors to schedule and keep appointments for blood donation to help maintain a stable blood supply for ongoing and emergency needs. In less time than it takes to listen to your favorite CD, you can roll up your sleeves and help save up to three lives with just one donation.<\/p>\n

The 2009 Rock And Roll Up Your Sleeves Blood drive will take place at two convenient Fort Wayne Locations:<\/p>\n

1212 E. California Road, across from the Memorial Coliseum<\/strong>:
\nTuesday, Aug. 25 through Thursday, Aug. 27: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
\nFriday, Aug. 28 & Saturday, Aug. 29: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

7900 W. Jefferson Blvd., Suite 107, in the South Lobby of Lutheran Hospital<\/strong>:
\nTuesday, Aug. 25 & Wednesday, Aug. 26: 12 noon – 6 p.m.

How to Donate Blood<\/strong><\/p>\n

Call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) to schedule your blood donation appointment or visit IndianaOhioRedCross.org for more information. If you are at least 17* years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and are in good general health, you may be eligible to donate blood. All donors need to present positive identification.<\/p>\n
